Twas the Night Before Christmas and at the GAA Deli a regular customer came in the deli to eat. He has been coming in the deli for the longest time and always get the salad bar. Every time he comes in, he orders the salad bar at the order counter so that he can say hello to our order taker and say hi to the line employees. He uses the kiosk whenever he is on the phone making a business call, but he still waves to the line employees. As he grabs his salad plate at the counter, he is always greeted by an employee on the end and he always asks them how they are doing. Then, he proceeds to the salad bar where he talks to our salad bar lady, Herendira. He always has a smile on his face because he has just interacted with 7-8 employees and they all always ask him how he is doing and that they are glad to see him.
Well, the day before Christmas Eve he pulled the GM(John Coffee) aside and away from the employees and told him he had to talk to him about something. He said that he wasn't sure how to bring it up or how it should be handled, but he said he had to do this. He then pulled out 10 $25 Visa gift cards and said that they were for the staff that treats him so well. Thats $250 that he gave back to our employees for taking care of him! He said to wait until he left and to not make a big deal about it, but he said that all of the staff that he has interacted with so much and taken care of him so regulary deserves to have these for Christmas. This shows that our customers are just as much a part of our culture as are our staff and core values.
Thanks to John at GAA for sharing such an amazing story!!
